GREAT WEEKEND FOR GOSIA RDEST

The Alpine Elf Europa Cup began the second half of the season with three races at circuit Paul Ricard. After a Friday disrupted by strong storms and wind gusts, the weekend ended up with Jean-Baptiste Mela and Laurent Hurgon dominating the debates on the track. In the general classification, Jean-Baptiste Mela now has a 35-point lead from Laurent Hurgon with 44 points left to race for this season. Third, Mateo Herrero now has Pierre Sancinena just one point behind while the battle for fifth place is still wide-open
It was a great weekend for our driver Gosia Rdest. But it didn’t start well…. The qualis were postponed to Saturday. Heavy rain and heavy fog on the track made it impossible to race. We had to wait to the day after. However, the mechanics worked hard to have the car ready to race.
The Saturday, after the rainfall during the night, we went on Q1 on rain tires. The quickest lap Gosia could do gave P11. Second qualification, taking place just after the first one, Gosia drove with a change of tires, which turned out to be a mistake. The three cars that made this choice took last places in the qualifying. Gosia finished on P16.
It was not a good start at all, but on the two races that happened on Saturday she ended up in P6. Great fight, great overtakes and full of satisfaction!
On Sunday, there was just one race where again she finished on P6. Despite the difficult starting position after qualifying, Gosia managed to score a few points in each race! Very dynamic weekend. We are very proud of her! We can’t hardly wait to see her on the next race!
The fourth and final round of the season will take the Alpine Elf Europa Cup to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve at Portimão (Portugal) from October 30th to November 1st.
